Hello Mooresville Graded School District families,
The snow has arrived and with freezing temperatures overnight tonight, there will be roads throughout our district that will be potentially hazardous tomorrow. Therefore, we have made the decision for the safety of our students and staff to cancel school again for Thursday, January 18, 2018. Maintenance and custodial staff should report to work as soon as safely possible. All after-school activities and BASP are also cancelled.
Don't forget to stay updated on any changes to MGSD normal district operations via our website, social media channels, Connect5, and local news.
Thank you, stay safe, and stay warm!
This excellent program pairs a Davidson student with an MHS student and provides free tutoring and academic assistance for any subject taught here at MHS. This service is provided by a group of Davidson College students who volunteer on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:00. Tutoring takes place in the Magnolia Staff Development Room.
This service is for any students who are struggling, looking for help with homework, or simply want to get ahead in their studies.
There is no charge or formal registration process, but interested students are encouraged to let Mr. Shinn know they are coming so appropriate tutors numbers and subjects are available. This is especially important for advanced subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, and foreign languages.
- Stop by Mr. Shinn's room (B123) and give him a “heads up”.
- Email him: email@example.com
Our teachers offer individualized tutoring on various schedules before and after school. Please contact your teacher to set up an appropriate time. In addition, many teachers have lists of peer tutors who are available to help students outside of school hours.
